Ichwanul Muslimin: Jakarta Must Have Zero Stunting and Extreme Poverty

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Commission B Legislator, Ichwanul Muslimin wants the problem of stunting and extreme poverty in Jakarta to be resolved soon.

He disclosed focused efforts and appropriate interventions were needed, thus Jakarta could be free from stunting and extreme poverty.

"Jakarta must have zero stunting and extreme poverty. This is our shared responsibility," he expressed, Thursday (2/16).

He explained that with the huge Jakarta Regional Expenditure Budget (APBD), allocations to overcome stunting and extreme poverty must be a priority.

"It needs optimization and adequate budget support for Posyandu. Including, to meet the nutritional needs of the community both in terms of food intake or vitamins needed to overcome and prevent stunting," he explained.

According to him, synchronization of data between related agencies, both in the central government and regional governments needs to be done.

"Referring to the similarity of the data, all can synergize and move together by involving, surely, the participation of local residents. We from the faction also continue to help meet the nutritional needs of the residents," he explained.

He added the community also needs to continue to be socialized and educated to develop urban farming. It is important for maintaining food security and fulfilling nutrition independently.

"The KPKP Agency can be even more massive in providing assistance with vegetable, fruit, and fish seeds," he stated.
